San Jose - June 18, 2014 - Goaltender Alex Stalock has signed a two-year contract to remain with the San Jose Sharks. Financial terms of the contract were not released, but CSNBayArea.com reported the contract will pay Stalock $1.5 million in 2014-15 and $1.7 million in 2015-16.

Stalock would have become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

The 26-year-old went 12-5-2 with a 1.87 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and two shutouts in 24 games as Antti Niemi's backup last season. Stalock started Game 6 of the Sharks' Western Conference First Round series against the Los Angeles Kings, one of three Stanley Cup Playoff games he played.

Last season marked the first time Stalock has spent the entire season in the NHL. A fourth-round pick (No. 112) in the 2005 NHL Draft, he played three games in two previous NHL stints with San Jose.

The Sharks also signed right wing Mike Brown to a two-year contract, keeping him from reaching unrestricted free agency. Financial terms were not released, but CSNBayArea.com reported Brown will receive $1.15 million in 2014-15 and $1.25 million in 2015-16.

Brown, 28, had five points in 48 games with the Sharks after being traded by the Edmonton Oilers in October 2013. He had one goal and one assist in six playoff games.
