Edmonton - Sep. 21, 2014: On a night in which they celebrated their 2013-14 Championship season, the Edmonton Oil Kings showed a glimpse of the future in their 2014-15 season opener. Andrew Koep scored a pair of goals in his first WHL game and netminder Patrick Dea made 18 saves in leading the defending Western Hockey League and Memorial Cup champs to a 4-2 win over the Kootenay Ice in front of what was the largest home-opening crowd in franchise history. Edmonton - Oct. 21, 2013: Henrik Samuelsson scored just 41 seconds into to overtime, leading the Edmonton Oil Kings to a come from behind 3-2 victory over the visiting Kootenay Icein Sunday night WHL action. Samuelsson's heroics helped Edmonton salvage their weekend set with Kootenay, following a 4-3 loss to the Ice in Saturday's opener. Cranbrook - Aug. 28, 2013: GM Jeff Chynoweth announced the Kootenay Ice will be adding Mike Dyck to the Coaching Staff when Ryan McGill leaves in December to be an Assistant Coach with Team Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championship. Mike will attend Training Camp to get to know the players and staff and will be in Cranbrook once a month leading up to McGill’s departure on December 12. FULL STORY

Cranbrook - Aug. 26, 2013: The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club will open their 2013 Western Hockey League Training Camp Wednesday, August 28 at 9:00 am. This year’s Training Camp will once again combine rookie-aged players (players born in 1998), with veteran players (players born in 1993 to 1997).
