National Hockey League (Media Release)

EL SEGUNDO - Apr. 18, 2019: Todd McLellan accepted his job as coach of the Los Angeles Kings knowing he must bridge the gap from the older players who won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014 to a younger group. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Oct. 26, 2015: What can you say…while it was far from their finest effort, the Edmonton Oilers were certainly dealt a crappy hand on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Kings over at Rexall Place. While it looked as though Connor McDavid had snuck a last second game-tying goal past Jonathan Quick to force overtime, the replay official saw it differently and in the end it left Edmonton on the wrong side of a 3-2 decision. Edmonton - Apr. 3, 2015: Last night’s 8-2 thrashing handed the Edmonton Oilers what is essentially perfect bookends to what truly has been a season to forget. While game No. 78 on the schedule was a drubbing to remember, it was also the perfect complement to the 6-1 thrashing Edmonton received back on October 14th, against the very same Los Angeles Kings. It was beating no one in this organization should forget any time soon but something tells me it may be dismissed as nothing more than “one of those nights”. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Mar. 4, 2015: While last night’s 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings was a fairly predictable outcome, it was yet another example of just how far away the Edmonton Oilers are from being anything other than a speed bump for the top teams in the Western Conference. So please spare me the lack of effort idiocy and accept this for what it is. FULL STORY

Stoney Point - Feb. 1, 2015: With the Toronto Maple Leafs in the midst of a nine game losing streak, there is a great deal of speculation that General Manager Dave Nonis and the Buds will be sellers before the March 5th NHL Trade Deadline. The Maple Leafs may want to get a jump on the other teams and start making moves sooner rather than later. FULL STORY

Windsor - Jan. 13, 2015: The Toronto Maple Leafs were in Los Angeles Monday night to do battle against the streaking LA Kings. This would mark the third game for newly appointed interim head coach Peter Horachek, whose first game behind the bench fell short due to a poor showing by the Leafs against Washington. Toronto rebounded in his second game against Columbus. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Dec. 31, 2014: While they may have tried their very best to blow yet another multi-goal lead on home ice, at least for one night, the Edmonton Oilers found a way to get the job done over at Rexall Place. On the strength of a 37 save performance from Ben Scrivens and a shootout winner off the stick of David Perron, the Oilers managed to put an end to their most recent losing skid with a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Toronto - Dec. 14, 2014: The Leafs win a hard fought game against the Los Angeles Kings in a shoot out. James Reimer held strong as he blanked the Kings in the shoot out. Meanwhile Mike Santorelli and Nazem Kadri led the Leafs up front. It was an impressive win for the Leafs who had played Detroit just 17 hours before. FULL STORY
