Windsor - Feb. 21, 2015: Slater Doggett's goal at 17:05 of the third period lifted the Spits to a hard-fought, 2-1 win over the Whalers Friday night at Compuware Arena. The win moved Windsor (23-30-2-1) into a tie for eighth place and the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, thanks to Ottawa's 4-1 win over the Spirit in the nation's capital. And it ends a quarter-century old rivalry with the Plymouth franchise, which has been sold to a new ownership group that will play out of Flint, Michigan starting next season. FULL STORY

Stoney Point - Dec. 9, 2014: There are rumours circulating south western Ontario and various Ontario Hockey League circles that the Plymouth Whalers are looking to move out of Michigan to a small Canadian city. The city of Chatham has been rumoured as a potential landing spot for the Whalers. Cornwall Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy and his Council should move quickly and make a call to explore the possible return of the Cornwall Royals. FULL STORY

Livonia - Sep. 1, 2013: Josh Ho-Sang's goal with just 41 seconds to play lifted the Windsor Spitfires to a 5-5 tie with the Plymouth WhalersSaturday night at the Eddie Edgar Ice Arena in Livonia, Michigan.
