Stoney Point - Mar. 15, 2019: By early in the second period the Windsor Spitfires found themselves down 3-0 to the Flint Firebirds. The Spits rallied to tie the game in the third but lost in the shootout on a goal by former Spit Cody Morgan. FULL STORY

Windsor - Mar. 10, 2019: The Windsor Spitfires fell 4-1 on Saturday in Flint to the Firebirds. Meanwhile, the Erie Otters were 5-3 winners at home over the Mississauga Steelheads. As of today, the two teams are tied with 56 points for the final playoff spot in the OHL Western Conference. It should be interesting to watch these two teams over the final week of the OHL Season. Windsor - Mar. 4, 2019: Mike Miller, the radio play-by-play voice of the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires, has called it a career. In a press release issued by the team, Miller cites "a voice and vocal disorder from overuse that currently limits his ability to execute play-by-play at a high level" as the reason for his decision. His AM800 broadcast partner Frank Dayus will continue alongside Steve Bell, another familiar voice who is no stranger to fans of Spitfire hockey. FULL STORY

Windsor - Mar. 3, 2019: On an afternoon that the Windsor Spitfires wore special jerseys to honour area first responders, the home team dropped a heart breaking game early in overtime. The Spits fell behind 3-1 by midway through the game. Windsor had a strong third period out-shooting their opponent 20-8. The team rallied to tie Kingston on goals by Luke Boka and Curtis Douglas. Windsor - Mar. 2, 2019: The longtime radio voice of the Spitfires has announced his retirement. Mike Miller says the decision is the by-product of a voice and vocal disorder from overuse that currently limits his ability to execute play-by-play at a high level. The Toledo, Ohio native has called more than 800 Spitfire games over the past 11 seasons, including three Memorial Cup and two Ontario Hockey League championships FULL STORY

Stoney Point - Feb. 21, 2019: Paige Morton and her family drove 561 kilometres from Paris, Ontario to Ottawa to see Michael DiPietro play. Sadly, it wasn’t a game that DiPietro was scheduled to play in. He saw the sign that Paige had made and reached out. Mikey organized a tour of the 67’s dressing room, got her a signed stick and then invited her to skate on the Rideau Canal with the team on Saturday. FULL STORY

Windsor - Jan. 21, 2019: Mikey DiPietro made OHL history last Friday night, stopping everything that came his way in a 4-0 victory. The home win came against the Peterborough Petes and was DiPietro’s 17th career OHL shutout, moving him past Thomas McCollum for the record. Of the seventeen, sixteen were posted as a member of the Windsor Spitfires over a span of three and a half seasons. FULL STORY

Windsor - Jan. 12, 2018: The Windsor Spitfires were stung early, by an high flying Sarnia offense, skating to a 5-3 defeat in front of 4,538 fans at the WFCU centre. The Ontario Hockey league trade deadline passed on Wednesday. Windsor and Sarnia went in opposite directions of the trade spectrum. Windsor - Oct. 25, 2017: Logan Brown is set to make his return to the Spitfires. The Ottawa Senators announced this morning they've reassigned the 19-year-old centre and 2017 Memorial Cup champion back to Windsor. Brown played four games for the Senators out of training camp, registering his first NHL point on October 22nd against the Toronto Maple Leafs FULL STORY
