NHL season resuming will be right thing to do, Guerin says
Media Release
National Hockey League

Saint Paul - Apr. 21, 2020: Bill Guerin said he believes the NHL season will resume, potentially in empty arenas, after it was paused March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus. "I think it does," the Minnesota Wild general manager told their website Monday. "The bottom line is, we're not doing anything unless it's safe for everybody. And if it is, I think we will, and I think it would be the right thing to do. It'll be a little unusual, a little unorthodox, but that's OK. FULL STORY

Windsor - Mar. 24, 2015: The Maple Leafs hosted the Minnesota Wild last night in a game that was closer than many believed it would be. It turned into a battle of the netminders, as Jonathan Bernier and Devan Dubnyk took turns awing the dismal crowd in attendance Monday night. Charlie Coyle and Thomas Vanek tallied the two goals for the Wild, while Jake Gardiner netted his fourth providing the Leafs with their only goal. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Feb. 25, 2015: The Edmonton Oilers finally managed to beat Devan Dubnyk on Tuesday night, as a badly undermanned side edged the red-hot Minnesota Wild by a score of 2-1. In a season in which the Oilers goaltending has been a complete and utter disaster, it was the play of netminder Ben Scrivens that allowed them to walk away with two points in their back pocket, Unfortunately, it has taken five plus months for an Oilers goalie to deliver an elite level performance in 2014-15. Edmonton - Feb. 21, 2015: While last night's 4-0 loss to Devan Dubnyk and the Minnesota Wild may have been difficult for some in this market to accept, the time has come for this fan base and local media to come to grips with what this Edmonton Oilers roster currently is. Losses like last night has nothing to do with the so-called lack of effort we are seeing out on the ice and and everything to do with the team on the other end of the rink. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Feb. 20, 2015: No matter what happens in his return to Rexall, when Dubnyk exits the ice that he once called home, amidst cheers or boos (they all sound the same) he will probably still be able to look up to the pressbox and see the egg dripping off of Craig MacTavish’s face. Meanwhile the fans throughout Oil Country will be wondering if it was the wrong move to give up on the man who they so fondly remember by the giraffe on his mask. FULL STORY

Edmonton - Jan. 28, 2015: It was nice while it lasted but the Edmonton Oilers modest two game win streak came to a crashing halt on Tuesday night, as the visiting Minnesota Wild eked out a 2-1. To make matters worse, Edmonton dropped their four consecutive decision to their former starting netminder Devan Dubnyk, who has won a grand total of twelve games this season, with half of them coming against the Buffalo Sabres, Oilers and his former team the Arizona Coyotes. Windsor - Jan. 3, 2015: In somewhat of an understatement, the current Toronto Maple Leafs road trip has not been kind to the boys. After the sixth of a seven game road trip, their longest of the season, the Buds have only managed four of a possible twelve points. In their defense, this road trip has been brutal, and after a match in Winnipeg Saturday night, they will have played five games in seven nights. FULL STORY

St. Paul - Dec. 6, 2014: Anaheim Ducks forward Tim Jackman has carved out a career as a gritty, dependable fourth-liner in the NHL. But against the Minnesota Wild on Friday, he looked more like a first-line sniper.
