Kamloops - October 17, 2013 - The Kamloops Blazers (4-7-0-0) got a terrific effort up and down the line-up in a 3-1 home ice win over the #6 ranked team in the CHL Wednesday night.

The win snapped the Seattle Thunderbirds (8-3-0-0) 5-game winning streak.

The Blazers had a lot of pressure early on but were given a penalty 2:22 into the period as Connor Clouston was tagged with an interference call.

Shea Theodore, who is a first round pick of the Anaheim Ducks, fired a shot past everyone for his fifth of the season and a 1-0 lead 3:13 into the game.

The Blazers continued their strong work ethic and were rewarded when Tim Bozon blew by everyone from the defensive zone getting a breakaway and putting it five-hole past goaltender Justin Myles to tie the game up at 1-1 midway through the period.

The two teams were even at 12-12 on the shot clock after the first period of play.

The second period is where the Blazers took over the game. They were terrific in all aspects creating chances and nearly taking the lead on a few different occasions. Tyson Ness' shot sneaked underneath goaltender Justin Myles, but the post kept it out to keep the game at 1-1. Ness was set up nicely by Chase Souto on the power play, but the puck jumped off his stick and wide of the goal.

The Blazers finally took the lead with 4:13 left in the period. Tim Bozon and Aspen Sterzer went in on a two-on-one and Bozon snapped a shot high blocker side past Myles to make it 2-1. Chase Souto gave the Blazers a 3-1 lead on the power play. Josh Connolly made a highlight reel pass to give Souto a breakaway as he scored his seventh of the season and also for the fifth straight game to give the Blazers a 3-1 lead through two periods.

The Thunderbirds had plenty of opportunities to come back in this one spending 6:35 straight on the power play including two lengthy 5-on-3's. The Blazers did a great job on the penalty kill blocking shots and clearing pucks to preserve the lead. The Blazers killed off two more power plays in the period as the Thunderbirds spent nearly half the period on the power play, but were unable to score as the Blazers were 3-1 winners.

Tim Bozon finished the game with two goals, while Cole Ully had two assists on the night. Josh Connolly had an assist and now has 11 points this season to lead the Blazers in scoring. Connolly already has hit career highs in goals, assists and points only 11 games into the year.

Bolton Pouliot played his second straight game and won again making 31 saves for the Blazers.

The Blazers finished the game 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Thunderbirds were 1-for-8. The Thunderbirds outshot the Blazers 32-28 in the game.
