Windsor - September 27, 2013 - Taylor Dupuis made 48 saves as the Sarnia Sting topped the Windsor Spitfires 3-1 on Thursday night in front of 5,242 at the WFCU Centre.

Bryan Moore, Jordan Addesi and Nickolas Latta scored for Sarnia (1-1-0-0) on just six shots through 36:50 of play, chasing Windsor starting goalie Jordan DeKort.

Dalen Kuchmey stopped all 14 shots he faced in relief and Slater Koekkoek had the only goal for Windsor (0-2-0-0).

“Your goalie has got to be one of your best players every night and ours wasn’t necessarily our best,” said head coach Bob Boughner.

Recently acquired from the Sudbury Wolves, Dupuis was outstanding in just his 19th career OHL game; making 14 saves in the first period, 19 in the second and 16 in the final 20 minutes.

"I thought we outplayed them all night," said Spitfires winger Ty Bilcke. "But a lot of our shots came from the outside. We need to do a better job of getting traffic in front of goalies. We made it fairly easy on him."

Ryan Foss recorded his first point as a Spitfire, with the second assist on Koekkoek's first goal of the season.

Neither team was able to cash in on the power play, as Windsor went 0-for-3 with just three shots, while the Sting went 0-for-5 with just four.

The Spitfires will be back in action Saturday night against the Erie Otters. Gametime is 7:05 at the WFCU Centre.
