Spokane - September 4, 2013 - The Spokane Chiefs have reassigned six players back to their home clubs as they prepare for their second preseason tournament of the season this weekend in Kennewick.

The team is now carrying 30 players, including three goaltenders, 16 forwards and 11 defensemen.

15-year-olds Jeff Faith, Taylor Ross and Jake Toporowski were all reassigned after their first WHL Training Camp experience.

Faith and Ross both return to Notre Dame Bantam AAA (Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League) while Toporowski returns to Chicago Mission (High Performance Hockey League).

16-year-old rookies Jordan Henderson (Vancouver NE Chiefs Midget, British Columbia Midget Hockey League) and Curtis Miske (Leduc Midget AAA, Alberta Midget Hockey League), as well as 17-year-old goaltender Trevor Martin (waiting for assignment) were also reassigned.

Two 1997-born players remain on the squad including defenseman Evan Fiala, the Chiefs' 1st-Round bantam selection in 2012, and goaltender Tyson Verhelst of Brandon, Manitoba.

Spokane native Keanu Yamamoto, who registered a team-high four points (all assists) in Everett, also remains with the club.

The Chiefs head to the Toyota Center in Kennewick on Friday for two games in the Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament, hosted by the Tri-City Americans. Spokane faces Kootenay on Friday at 3 p.m. and Tri-City on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Chiefs will host Tri-City in their only home preseason game of the year on Wednesday, September 11th at Eastern Washington University's University Recreation Center (URC). Tickets are on sale at the Chiefs office by calling (509)535-PUCK or through the URC in Cheney.
