Edmonton - September 2, 2013 - A pair of third period goals lifted the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 2-1 victory Sunday night over the Red Deer Rebels as the Oil Kings’ 7th Annual Pre-season Invitational presented by Toyota RAV4 Game On wrapped up at Servus Place.

Edmonton was snake bitten for most of the game despite heavily outshooting the Rebels until Cole Benson rang a shot off the post, grabbed his own rebound in the slot and wired the puck past Red Deer netminder Rylan Toth erase a 1-0 deficit.

Edgars Kulda followed shortly after with a goal on a give-and-go play with Mads Eller to complete the comeback.

Adam Musil had the lone goal for Red Deer.

St. Albert native Patrick Dea made seven saves on eight shots after getting the start in net, while Tyler Santos, who replaced him midway through the game, stopped all 17 shots he faced.

In other action at the tournament, Prince George beat Medicine Hat 4-1, and Calgary downed Swift Current 4-1.

The Oil Kings are next in action Friday and Saturday when they visit the Cougars in Prince George.
