Senators sign Da Costa to one-year, two-way deal
The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has re-signed forward Stephane Da Costa to a one-year, two-way contract. Da Costa, 24, spend the majority of the 2012-13 season with the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators, sharing the team lead with 38 points (including 13 goals), while leading the B-Sens with 25 assists. He also appeared in nine games with Ottawa, scoring once and adding one assist.

Ottawa - August 8, 2013 - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has re-signed forward Stephane Da Costa to a one-year, two-way contract.

Da Costa, 24, spend the majority of the 2012-13 season with the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators, sharing the team lead with 38 points (including 13 goals), while leading the B-Sens with 25 assists. He also appeared in nine games with Ottawa, scoring once and adding one assist.

In 35 career National Hockey League games, Da Costa has scored four goals, while adding three assists and eight penalty minutes. He has recorded 74 points, including 26 goals, in 103 career AHL contests with Binghamton.

Da Costa was originally signed by the Senators as an undrafted college free agent on March 31, 2011, after two NCAA seasons with Hockey East’s Merrimack College. In 67 career collegiate contests with the Warriors, he recorded 30 goals, 60 assists and 83 penalty minutes.

Da Costa is the only French-born player ever to be signed by the Senators. He has represented his native France four times at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships.
