Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 9, 2014 -

The Syracuse Crunch came to town this afternoon for a bit of hockey and the WBS Penguins were just the ticket.

There was a lot of end to end hockey for both sides, WBS getting five power plays one a 5x3 that was cut short and did not convert any of them. Andrew Ebbett had one of the best chances on an open net but couldn't find the handle.

By the end of the first the Penguins lead the Crunch in shots on net but the score stayed 0-0 heading to the dressing room for the first intermission.

Syracuse scored just 2:06 into the second period giving the Crunch the lead, but the Penguins answered back two minutes later as Jayson Megna even it up at one each going top shelf.

Syracuse would take the lead again as Richard would put one past Eric Hartzell the Pens now trailing 2-1. Taylor Chorney would take care of business for the Penguins playing equalizer making it all even at two with a power play goal. That's where the second would end scoring wise but there were a few fights, the best was Payerl and Corrente.

Third period saw more end to end action Derrick Pouliot tallied the Penguins third goal giving them the lead for the first time in tonight's game on the power play, Penguins now leading 3-2.

Just over five minutes later Jayson Megna and Beau Bennett team up for a nice tic tac goal putting the Penguins up by a pair now leading 4-2. Syracuse wasn't going to lay down and give up though as they came back with two goals of their own making it even at 4 at the end of regulation.

Nearing the halfway point of OT Brian Dumoulin centers a puck sort of blindly to Jean Sebastien Dea who roofs it behind Andrei Vasilevskiy giving the WBS Penguins the win. That is a perfect weekend for the Penguins 3 for 3 a total of 6 points WBS sits in 1st place with 17 points a record of 8-5-1
