The St. John's IceCaps took game two of the Eastern Conference Finals, as the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins failed to manage more than one goal against IceCaps goaltender Michael Hutchinson.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton - May 26, 2014 - It was an even first period with some great end to end hockey but the Penguins just couldn’t get the right bounce. St. John’s took a 1-0 lead around 14 minutes through the first period as Kyle MacKinnon took a cross ice feed from Blair Riley and shot one past Mannino.

Penguins get some chances but no joy early in the second the IceCaps almost make it 2-0 but the puck rolls just past the post. IceCaps do take a 2-0 lead on a shot pass by ONeal gets a point shot passed Mannino.

Spencer Machacek rings one off the crossbar just after the IceCaps goal Penguins just couldn’t catch a break. Half way through the second period the Penguins only getting 6 shots on net.

Third period brought nothing to WBS as they tried and tried but Hutchinson kept his cool and kept them out. The WBS Penguins would finally break the ice with an extra attacker goal with Peter Mannino’s net empty, Aton Zlobin would get the tally cutting the IceCaps lead in half.

That would be all the Pens had tonight unfortunately they couldn’t over come the IceCaps two goal lead making the series all even at one each and looking toward game three. Here are some highlights from tonight’s game.
