Wilkes-Barre Scranton - September 30, 2013 - Tonight’s game got off to a great start for the Penguins limiting the shots the Amerks took the first 3/4 of the first period there wasn’t one shot on Jeffrey Drouin-Deslauriers.

Home grown Patrick McGrath was on the ice tonight getting the start for the Pens, McGrath looked good, McGrath found himself a dance partner with Frederick Roy, nice job by Patrick. Mcgrath would also get a second offer for a dance this time he would choose Johnny McGuire as his partner, nice scrap but nothing like his first one.

WBS killed off a bunch of penalties going 7 for 7 on the Penalty Kill even a few 5 on 3 situations. The power play, well lets say they had the passing down got a few quality shots on net but still not as good as it should be but again it is early.

After 2 periods it was still 0-0 Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond went with McGuire not much to talk about looked more like Leblond was trying not to hit him to hard. Trevor Gillies of all the players would be the one to score putting the Amerks on the board first in the third frame now putting the Penguins behind the eight ball.

OT got started Pens looked good but Rochester got a lucky break a turnover lead to a fast break and a one on one situation developed with one of the Amerks coming inn on Hartzell all alone. Hartzell came up with the save of the game keeping the Penguins in this, then Cody Sylvester would score initially the goal was waved off by referee TJ Luxmore for interference on Hackett as Sylvester bowled into him. After talking with the linesmen and maybe a little heckling from the home crowd the right call was made and the Penguins won 2-1.
