Wilkes-Barre Scranton's Grace joining NHL Ranks

The WBS Penguins released today that Tom Grace the voice of the penguins will be leaving again,This time heading for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins have released the following. Grace has accepted a position as the Manager of Team Services for the Florida Panthers, and will be joining the team within the next two weeks.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton - August 6, 2013 - The WBS Penguins released today that Tom Grace the voice of the penguins will be leaving again,This time heading for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins have released the following.

Grace has accepted a position as the Manager of Team Services for the Florida Panthers, and will be joining the team within the next two weeks.

"We are extremely happy for Tom and the opportunity he has with the Panthers," said Penguins CEO Jeff Barrett. "Tom has been the most recognizable and one of the most popular members of our organization since its inception. We couldn’t be more excited for him, and we wish him nothing but the best in his new position."

A veteran of more than 1,000 pro games behind the microphone, Grace has served as the Penguins' play-by-play voice for 11 seasons (1999-2007, 2010-13). Prior to joining the Penguins for their inaugural season, Grace served as the voice of the Hampton Roads Admirals of the ECHL.

Grace has won numerous awards during his tenure in Wilkes-Barre, including three James H. Ellery Memorial Awards for outstanding media coverage (1999-00, 2000-01, 2001-02).

Grace is the third member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton staff to head to the NHL this offseason, joining Teddy Richards (assistant equipment manager with the Pittsburgh Penguins) and Josh Richards (assistant equipment manager with the Dallas Stars).
