Washington - Mar. 1, 2015: The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Curtis Glencross from the Calgary Flames for a second- and third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. In 53 games for the Flames this season, Glencross had nine goals and 28 points. He averaged more than 16 minutes of ice time per game. FULL STORY

For the most part, they limited Washington’s scoring chances (something they hadn’t done in either of the first two meetings between the clubs). Their penalty killing was suburb, as they erased four Washington power plays. Raleigh - Dec. 4, 2014: Eric Fehr forced a turnover in the high slot, then lifted a shot over Anton Khudobin's glove with 4:02 remaining to give the Washington Capitals a 2-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Thursday. The Capitals (11-10-4) are 10-1-1 when scoring first this season. Goaltender Braden Holtby made 29 saves to earn his ninth win. The Hurricanes (8-14-3) fall to 3-4-2 against Metropolitan Division opponents. FULL STORY

Bernier has had some slow starts to games this season as he has given up a goal in the first two minutes of the game on four different occasions.
