Spits DiGiacinto signs contract with Syracuse Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch have signed forward Cristiano DiGiacinto to an amateur tryout contract, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. DiGiacinto, 19, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round, 170th overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft. The Hamilton, Ontario native stands 5 feet 11 inches, weighs 196 pounds and shoots left.

Syracuse - March 27, 2015 - The Syracuse Crunch have signed forward Cristiano DiGiacinto (KRIHS-t'chee-AH-noh DEE-jah-SIHN-toh) to an amateur tryout contract, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

DiGiacinto, 19, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round, 170th overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft. The Hamilton, Ontario native stands 5 feet 11 inches, weighs 196 pounds and shoots left.

DiGiacinto comes to Syracuse from the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he registered 45 points (21g, 24a) and 100 penalty minutes in 63 games this year. DiGiacinto was named Windsor's hardest working player by team management following the season.

DiGiacinto joined Windsor during the 2013-14 season after beginning the year with the Ontario Junior Hockey League's Hamilton Red Wings. He racked up 11 points (8g, 3a) in nine games with Hamilton (OJHL) and signed with Windsor (OHL) Oct. 15, 2013. He completed that season with the Spits, playing 50 games and collecting 28 points (17g, 11a) along with 101 penalty minutes.
