Habs acquire Flynn from Sabres
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday the acquisition of forward Brian Flynn from the Buffalo Sabres, in return for a fifth round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Flynn, 26, recorded 17 points (5 goals and 22 assists) in 54 regular season games with the Sabres in 2014-2015 averaging 15:33 of ice time per game. He served eight penalty minutes and had 23 shots on goal.

Montreal - March 2, 2015 - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday the acquisition of forward Brian Flynn from the Buffalo Sabres, in return for a fifth round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Flynn, 26, recorded 17 points (5 goals and 22 assists) in 54 regular season games with the Sabres in 2014-2015 averaging 15:33 of ice time per game. He served eight penalty minutes and had 23 shots on goal.

Since making his NHL debuts back in 2012-13, Flynn has produced 41 points (17 goals and 24 helpers) in 159 regular season games with the Sabres. Two of his goals were scored shorthanded and one was a game-winner. The 6’1’’ and 180 lbs centre served 22 penalty minutes. A former University of Maine Black Bear (Hockey East) in the NCAA, Flynn recorded 156 points (69 goals and 87 assists) in 153 games at the collegiate level.

A native of Lynnfield, Massachussetts, Flynn first joined the Sabres as a free agent on March 29, 2012.
