McDavid
You can hear the dejection in his voice. Clearly, Connor McDavid is frustrated with the state of the Edmonton Oilers. Former HometownHockey.ca columnist Rob Soria summed it up perfectly last night on Twitter. “A fair assessment to be sure and a situation I cannot see their young captain tolerating any longer. Time's up folks, this thing needs to move north and immediately.”

Stoney Point - April 2, 2019 - You can hear the dejection in his voice. Clearly, Connor McDavid is frustrated with the state of the Edmonton Oilers.

Question was asked, you guys have really been clicking as a team, can this be carried over to next season. McDavid smirked and answered, “I don’t know. Maybe. We’ll see. Doesn’t really matter.”

“It sucks obviously. Not good enough, all year. We let streaks drag on, there were times where we couldn’t find ways to get wins drag on. You’ve got to find ways to stop the bleeding quick. There is a slim margin of error in this league. There are a lot of teams that are right there. We did our best to stay in the fight - just a little too late.”

He went on to say, “It’s been an insane season. Coaching change, GM change. Good times and bad times, it’s been a roller coaster. It’s been emotionally challenging, it’s been hard mentally to kinda keep on going, but we were always kinda right there. We were close, and then we would drift away. That’s the way it goes.”

When asked about his frustration levels, McDavid said, “It’s high. It’s really, really high. It’s frustrating, we want to play in the playoffs as a team, I personally want to play in the playoffs. I’m not happy about it, it’s going to be a long summer.

I thought former HometownHockey.ca columnist Rob Soria summed it up perfectly last night on Twitter. “A fair assessment to be sure and a situation I cannot see their young captain tolerating any longer. Time's up folks, this thing needs to move north and immediately.”

It will be an interesting summer in Edmonton.
