Wilkes-Barre - April 25, 2015 -

It was Game two of the WBS Penguins and Syracuse  Crunch series tonight here in WBS in front of a nice home crowd. The WBS Penguins looking to go up two to nothing on the series the Crunch looking to even it up at one each heading for home ice.

The Penguins would draw first blood tonight as Jayson Megna tallies a power play goal putting one past Gudlevskis Pens lead 1-0. Matt Murray came up huge in a few saves one on a cough up by the Pens that created a 1 on 0 fast break for the Crunch but Murray held the line.

Later in the first Carter Rowney would find an opening a nice wrister past Gudlevskis on a nice feed from Archibald. Tom Kostopoulos would round out the period at 19:59 with a toss behind him that pinballs in after review its the Penguins third and final goal of the first period. As the boy's head for the dressing room for the first intermission Syracuse looking at a 3 goal hole the Pens have dug for them.

There was a lot of action for the second period but no scoring WBS killing off two power play opportunities the Crunch had keeping the three goal lead. Syracuse getting a little chippy trying to get some mojo but the Pens staying disciplined not giving them anything.

After two periods of play the WBS Penguins still held a three to nothing lead heading off with just 20 more minutes to play in regulation, shots on goal all even at this point 15 each.

Syracuse tried everything in the third looking to generate something for their team but the WBS Penguins had the deck stacked. Matt Murray looking stellar in goal got his first post season shutout holding off 27 of the Crunches shots and weathering some unwanted hits.

Kasperi Kapanen would get the fourth WBS goal in a fast break beating Gudlevskis clean. After 60 minutes of play the Crunch were looking at a do or die game on Wednesday in Syracuse.
