Jones replaces another former Spitfires coach, DJ Smith, who was hired as an assistant coach

Oshawa - Aug. 1, 2014: The Oshawa Generals announced today that they will officially retire John Tavares’ number “91” in a ceremony at the 2014-15 season home opener on Sunday, September 28 at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.

Oshawa - Apr. 6, 2014: Oshawa Generals’ 2013 rookie sensation, Mitchell Vande Sompel delivered a powerful performance on Sunday night, not at the defenceman position, but rather as a forward as he tallied two assists in a 2-0 shutout victory over the visiting Peterborough Petes. Vande Sompel’s offensive performance was overshadowed by Gens’ goaltender Daniel Altshuller, who recorded 22 saves for his second consecutive shutout and has Oshawa sitting comfortably with 2-0 series lead.
Oshawa - Apr. 4, 2014: Oshawa Generals’ veteran netminder Daniel Altshuller was solid on this night, but only faced 18 Peterborough Petes' shots.
