Traffic Stop results in Drug and Speeding charges

On May 19, 2020, around 7:45 p.m., a member of Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 401 near Orford Road, when they observed a westbound motor vehicle traveling in excess of 150 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.

Chatham-Kent - May. 22, 2020:
On May 19, 2020, around 7:45 p.m., a member of Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 401 near Orford Road, when they observed a westbound motor vehicle traveling in excess of 150 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.

While conducting their investigation, police discovered and seized approximately 7 kilograms of cannabis.

Daniel SQUALLS, 21-years-old of Windsor, Ontario has been charged with Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place.

Cody HOLMES, 22-years-old of Windsor has been charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place.

Both individuals will appear in Ontario Court of Justice on August 6, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively monitoring the "Big 4" driving behaviours; impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
