Winnipeg Jets 2013-14 Preview: Defence and Goaltending

Aug. 20, 2013: Yesterday we looked at my projected forward lines for the Winnipeg Jets heading into the 2013-14 season. Today we look at the defensive side of the puck and whether or not the likes of Dustin Byfuglien, Zach Bogosian and netminder Ondrej Pavelec are ready for life over in the NHL's Western Conference. Winnipeg Jets 2013-14 Preview: Forwards

Aug. 20, 2013: With all their RFAs signed, free agency seemingly over, and preparations for the new season starting to get going it is time to look ahead at what we might see out of the Winnipeg Jets this season, as they make their long awaited return to the NHL's Western Conference. FULL STORY

Who’s winning the NHL lockout?

Oct. 27, 2012: There’s no doubt in my mind that the latest move by the NHL to withdraw their latest proposal and cancel games until the end of November is not a good sign. In fact it’s being reported that next week the league will also announce it’s cancelling the Winter Classic and All Star Game. FULL STORY

Wait, this Lockout is for us?

Sep. 27, 2012: Now that we are a week plus into this NHL Lockout and we have already begun losing preseason games, there is one thing above all else that is so frustrating to me it is getting hard to watch. Between all the posturing and lobbying done by both sides there is one sentiment that has continued to come out of the mouths of both sides, "this for for the fans." FULL STORY

Cory Sarich trade request to Winnipeg Jets?

Aug. 21, 2012: Back at the beginning of July, one of our readers posted on Facebook they ran into Cory Sarich of the Calgary Flames at Calaway Park – a local amusement park just west of Calgary. He was promptly asked when he would be requesting a trade to Winnipeg. Sarich’s reply was unfortunately just a laugh. FULL STORY

Teemu Selanne and Ducks won't visit Winnipeg this year

Jun. 21, 2012: The schedule makers have given the Jets a home season opener for their second straight year in the league. Fans will have to wait a few days longer this year with the first game coming on Saturday, October 13. Some bad news for Jets fans though as their only match up against Teemu Selanne’s Anaheim Ducks (should he return as it’s looking like he will) comes on Sunday, February 24 in Anaheim. FULL STORY

Who the heck is Grant Clitsome?

Mar. 8, 2012: Kevin Cheveldayoff has said from the get go that the Winnipeg Jets will be a team building for the future. He made that evident when he drafted Mark Shiefle, who was relatively unknown to most fans. This brings us to the new guy, Grant Clitsome. He may not be a game changer like Byfuglien or as reliable as Enstrom, but he does bring something to the table. FULL STORY

Kane’s Concussion Controversy: Get over it!

Feb. 10, 2012: Lately, Kane’s the word, and when I say Kane, I mean mum on what his Winnipeg Jets, the League, teammates and reps will disclose about all the ‘concussion talk’. What really happened? When? And with whom? Evander Kane seems to unfortunately be the target for a selective few bored Winnipegers with nothing better to do with their time than trash talk a player. FULL STORY

Can the Winnipeg Jets make the playoffs?

Feb. 7, 2012: After a disappointing loss to the Montreal Canadiens the Winnipeg Jets sit in 10th place with 54 points - 5 points back of Florida for the Southeast lead and 3rd place, or 6 points back of Toronto and the 8th seed. The reality is sinking in that only one team from the southeast will likely make the post season. And if a second team does it’ll be a last day sneak in. FULL STORY
