Ingleside - Aug. 23, 2011 - As summer draws to a close, fun and fellowship continues at St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church. Vacation bible school is a rite of summer for children in many communities and youngsters in Ingleside enjoyed five days of PandaMania earlier this summer.

Children from four to 12 years of age learned of God’s unconditional love at the five-day bible school at St. Matthew’s.

For the first time in several years, a large, enthusiastic support crew of youth volunteers and members of the congregation made St. Matthew’s bible school a week of fun, frolic and bible learning for about 30 children. As well as traditional activities like arts and crafts and tasty treats, the bible messages where integrated using wet and wild water games, and a rowdy round-up of music and dance. Kids and grownups alike got get caught up in spotting God Sightings â€" places, every day situations and evidence of God in action.

Now with fall fast approaching St. Matthew’s is looking forward to celebrating the last days of summer with its traditional open-air Family Rally on the St. Lawrence River. The rally will take place at the Cruickshank Amphitheatre in Morrisburg on September 11 at 10:30 a.m. Congregations from Morrisburg and Iroquois/Cardinal will also be invited to the waterfront service.

Regular Sunday School at St. Matthew’s gets underway on Sunday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. For information about children’s program and events at the church call Wendy at 613-537-2715.
