Cravings for Spice and Curry
Cravings for Spice and Curry

Chatham-Kent - Nov. 10, 2013 - I had been craving Baigan Bharta (smoked eggplant which is roasted and pureed with onions and tomatoes, seasoned with herbs and spices) since we moved to Stoney Point and we've not been pointed in the direction of a great Indian restaurant in Windsor-Essex. My craving was satiated on Saturday night by Spice and Curry in neighbouring Chatham, Ontario. The restaurant has been receiving rave reviews by those in the community since they opened their doors under a year ago.

We were not disappointed. We had some celebrating to do Saturday night and everyone at our table had not experienced Indian cuisine, but no worries as the menu was thoroughly explained and they are cooking fresh so the spiciness of your dish can be cooked to suit your palate. My husband found their Beef Vindaloo to be one of the best he's been served. It was full of flavour and plenty of heat but the King Fisher beer he was sipping kept things cool. The chicken tikka masala which is a staple on any Indian menu was devoured and is a great dish for first timers. Try the Murgh Makhni which is tandoori chicken cooked in a butter based cream sauce with ground indian spices. We had both rice and traditional naan bread on the table to go with our meals.

The next time you're planning lunch or dinner, make Spice & Curry your destination or take advantage of their take out and call and order before you leave work then you have an amazing dinner to take home.
