Windsor - Jul. 18, 2013 - If ever there was a week to quench your thirst with a cold one, this is it! Temperatures have reached heights that have most likely increased the sales of suds across the province. Seems like a good time to report on the Beer Store’s annual Returns For Leukemia bottle drive. The final numbers are in, and the dollar total is staggering. (Yep, pun definitely intended!)
The final total across Ontario is $1,700,012.24 !! I had a chance to speak with Team Captain Seannaugh Simpson at the Dougall Avenue store in Windsor. Of the over 400 locations in the province, her store finished 85th with a very impressive total of $4,669.96 in empties and cash donations. This proves once again, how generous the people of this community are when it comes to giving. Well done, Seannaugh and team! And well done, Windsor!
