Pacioretty will be a game time decision tonight against Flyers
If there was ever a time for the Montreal Canadiens to right their sinking ship, tonight’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers would be momentous. The Canadiens’ are riding a six-game winless streak and have yet to win at the Bell Centre.

Whitby - Oct. 26, 2011 - If there was ever a time for the Montreal Canadiens to right their sinking ship, tonight’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers would be momentous. The Canadiens’ are riding a six-game winless streak and have yet to win at the Bell Centre.

This evening’s game is the first of the season between the Flyers and Canadiens. The Habs were not interested in his services this past summer, yet Jaromir Jagr continues to produce and is a point-scoring machine. He has quietly compiled seven points in eight games with the Flyers so far this season.

While the team performed better, my prediction on Monday that the Habs would be victorious over the Florida Panthers came up a bit short. If the Habs want to be victorious tonight, they will have a huge uphill battle. Philadelphia is one of the better defensive clubs in the NHL, even without Chris Pronger.

Max Pacioretty will be a game-time decision as he is nursing a partial ligament tear in his wrist. Pacioretty was practicing with the Canadiens this morning. Coach Jacques Martin indicated he (Pacioretty) may possibly be in the lineup against the Flyers. If the Habs were smart, they would force Pacioretty to rest tonight and possibly on Thursday night as well when the team travels to Boston to face the Bruins.

The lineups for tonight should look like this:

Montreal
Moen, Plekanec, Gionta
Kostitsyn, Eller, Palushaj *
Cammalleri, Desharnais, Cole
Blunden, Nokelainen, Darche
Gorges, Subban
Gill, Diaz
Spacek, Weber
Price
* will be replacing injured Pacioretty

Philadelphia:
Schenn, Briere, Simmonds
Hartnell, Giroux, Jagr
JVR, Read, Voracek
Shelley, Couturier, Talbot
Timonen, Carle
Coburn, Meszaros
Lilja, Walker
Bryzgalov

As I eluded to earlier in the article, tonight would be a great night for Montreal to win their first home victory to silence their critics as Game 6 of the World Series has been cancelled due to inclement weather, meaning alot more people will be watching hockey and not baseball.

Until next time, play every game like as if it is your last one…
