Moe Racine passed over again as a CFL Hall of Fame inductee
Well another year of CFL Hall of Fame inductions and still no Moe Racine. Trying to make contact is pretty well impossible, so I can't tell you how or who does the selections. Getting on to their website I was able to see that Moe's was on the list of eligible as of March 2011.

RAMBLINGS
Well another year of CFL Hall of Fame inductions and still no Moe Racine! Trying to make contact is pretty well impossible, so I can't tell you how or who does the selections. Getting on to their website I was able to see that Moe's was on the list of eligible as of March 2011. I guess that shows they haven't forgotten him, but when you look at the list of who is eligible it begs the question - how and who votes and what are the standards for entry. Moe's record speaks for itself and we continue to hope.

*** The CFL Playoffs are taking shape and should be fun the rest of the way.

***My family tells me the heat on Loungo in Vancouver is unbelievable. That is just a measure of how bad the judgement of the fans is there, but as usual its being fueled by the boneheads on talk radio and to a lesser extent the written press. Just remember there is no cure for stupid.

***I have been enjoying the baseball playoffs but it strikes me as silly that baseball does not have standard demensions for the field of play. Every other sport has standard size playing fields, but baseball allows Mickey Mouse tinkering to fit the players on the roster this year. Tampa Bay cutting a big chunk of the wall out down the left field line is as bad as it gets. Oh well we have bigger issues to live with I guess.

*** The talk about an NDP-Liberal merger is pure fantasy - at least while neither have a Leader and probably won't advance until there is another election and they both gets their butts kick again will it be talked about seriously. Remember, it took that to get the PC and Reform talking.

*** It will be really interesting to watch the elections for speaker in the Ontario. There is probably no chance a Liberal will put his name forward, because it really screws up the voting math. If conservative Frank Klees get the post it will give the Liberals a virtual free kick at the can. Stay tuned.

RANTS
The British couple who wanted to live in Cornwall but their 17 year old autistic son would not be allowed into the country for a visit, have given up and moved back to Britan...and the system never so much as blinked.

My family in BC tells me that there is a public reaction out there now when they learned that autistic children who are in group homes for obvious reasons are kicked out the day they turn 19 years of age and told to go to "shared accomadation". They probably don't have a support network of their own but are moved out anyway and God knows where they land. The motivation as always is money - but the sickening part is senior people are getting bonuses for their "budget control".

I have a member of my family with autisum, but he is blessed with loving parents and great support. To be fair, the system is helping the parents a lot - but what happens to the less fortunate? In the BC case how does a child need help one day and the day they turn 19, you are able to cut them loose? The mind boggles.

This "Occupy" movement is interesting. My first reaction was to think maybe the Kids are going to save us again -like they did back in the 60's and 70's. They did wake up the politicans on civil rights - Vietmam, etc but they had a point to make on issues - but these folks are not focused. Their only point seems to be that they are PO'd, have realized the world is screwed up and they are being left behind. This may be true but they have to remember there has always been a "one percent" and a 99% - and always will. Admittedly the 1% has gone nuts, but they should think about waking up the Governments to get a handle on the corporate world. They keep running everything off-shore at a fraction of the domestic cost, but when it comes back there is no saving to us. The profits go nuts but not as fast as the executive compensation. Somebody is agreeing to pay these people that kind of money, so the question becomes what is wrong with the Boards of Directors etc and also where are the share holders? It must be affecting dividends. Wake up folks

Keep Smiling
