Wonderful story conceived at Art in the Park
Jen and Theo Rallis from Rallis Olive Oil share a wonderful story that came from a conversation at Art in the Park 2017. Art in the Park held a media conference today in the parking lot at Devonshire Mall. The festival will be running a free bus shuttle every 15 minutes from the mall’s north parking lot to the festival site on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2.

Windsor - May 22, 2019 - Art in the Park held a media conference today in the parking lot at Devonshire Mall. The festival will be running a free bus shuttle every 15 minutes from the mall’s north parking lot to the festival site on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2. There will be plenty of free parking available at Devonshire Mall.

At the media event, Art in the Park organizers invited one of their Exhibitors to share a wonderful story.

At Art in the Park 2017, Theo Rallis from Rallis Olive Oil had just received a prognosis that his single kidney was failing rapidly and that without a transplant he would be in complete renal failure within a year. They just happened to mention this sad news to one of their regular customers at their booth at Art in the Park who made the commitment to get tested for compatibility.

It turned out that she was a perfect match beating the 1:100,000 odds! The transplant surgery took place in April 2018 and both donor and recipient are continuing to do well. Theo and his wife Jen graciously shared their story at the event and will be encourage festival visitors to sign up to become organ donors.

Art in the Park is held the first full weekend in June of each year - Rain or Shine! - and is the signature event that launches Windsor's festival season. As one of Ontario's largest outdoor arts and crafts shows with exhibitors from all over Ontario and Quebec, Art in the Park is a popular event in Windsor/Essex County.

Advanced tickets are available at most Shoppers Drug Marts throughout Essex County for $4.00 per ticket. Tickets will be available for $5.00 at the door. Admission for children 12 and under is free.
