SHORT SHIFT - Marc Crawford returns behind bench of Cornwall Royals
Marc Crawford won back to back Memorial Cups as a player with the Cornwall Royals in 1979-80 and 1980-81. In 1989, after his playing days he moved behind the bench. His first coaching gig was with those same Cornwall Royals who had moved to the OHL. Last night, he was back where it all began - behind the bench of the Cornwall Royals.

Cornwall - Apr. 29, 2015 - Marc Crawford won back to back Memorial Cups as a player with the Cornwall Royals in 1979-80 and 1980-81. In 1989, after his playing days he moved behind the bench. His first coaching gig was with those same Cornwall Royals who had moved to the OHL.

From there he would move to coach the AHL St. John's Maple Leafs, before moving on to the NHL ranks. In the NHL, Crawford coached the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars.

Last night, he was back where it all began - behind the bench of the Cornwall Royals. The Royals alumni took on the alumni from the Cornwall Colts as the unofficial launch of the Fred Page Cup in Cornwall. The tournament is the Eastern Canadian Championship.
