Vancouver - August 29, 2013 - The Giants wrapped up their 2013 training camp with the Alumni Challenge intra-squad game on Wednesday evening. Team Red picked up a 6-4 win over Team White.

Ty Ronning and Cain Franson had standout performances once again, both chipping in with three points. Joel Hamilton scored two goals for the red team in the win as well.

For the white team, Marek Tvrdon had two assists while Jackson Houck scored once and had a helper.

Things got heated towards the end of the second period with a scrum as the buzzer sounded. Houck and Tristan Sieben were at the centre of things. The emotion carried through to the third period with three separate fights. Dalton Sward dropped the mitts with Arvin Atwal while Jake Kohlhauser fought Luca Leone and Scott Cooke tussled with Jack McClelland.

After the game, defenseman Ryely McKinstry was assigned to the Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA team while blue liner Michael Eskra was sent to the Regina Pat Canadians.

The G-Men will open the pre-season with a match-up against the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday evening at the Ladner Leisure Centre. The face-off is set for 7 o’clock. Tickets will be available at the door for $10.
