The Cornwall Fantasy Hockey League (CFHL) was founded on October 3, 1995. Eight (8) teams competed in one Conference during the inaugural year. Weekly play consisted of teams dressing 2 Left Wingers, 2 Centres, 2 Right Wingers, 4 Defencemen, and 1 Goalie and competed in a 26 week schedule. The Original Eight franchises were as follows:

Part way through the inaugural season the GOOBERS left the League and ownership of the franchise was assumed by Stuart Thompson (RANGERS)

A playoff pool was implemented and participation was opened to a wider audience than the existing GMs of the League. Each fantasy team consisted of one player from each of the 16 NHL Playoff teams and 4 Wild Cards.

Prior to the start of the season, the CRUNCH announced that they would be leaving the CFHL.

League Owners decided to expand the LEAGUE by two teams and compete in two divisions of five teams each (CAMPBELL & WALES). With the CRUNCH's exit, a dispersal draft was held amongst the first three Expansion franchises. On August 20, 1996, the following franchises entered the League:

Due to the success and demand for franchises in the CFHL, a second league called the Fantasy Hockey League (FHL) was founded on September 22, 2000. Rules of competition were the exact same of those in the CFHL. The Original Twelve franchises were as follows:

Prior to the start of the season, the DARE DEVILS announced that they would be leaving the CFHL.

Part way through the season the EARTHQUAKE left the League and ownership of the franchise was assumed by Bubbah Smith (MISSION) on January 15, 2006

League Owners decided not to replace the two teams, but rather to contract to 14 teams. Teams would compete in two 7 team conferences (HAWERCHUK and GILMOUR). A dispersal draft was held.

Playoff format was modified to a "Box" format pool. Participants are required to pick one player out of each box of 4 players.

Prior to the start of the season, the RAIDERS announced that they would be leaving the CFHL to assume a team in the FHL.

Prior to the start of the season, the ST. PATS announced that they would be leaving the CFHL.

League Owners decided not to replace the two teams, but rather to contract back to 12 teams. Teams would compete in three 4 team divisions (CAMPBELL, WALES, GRETZKY). A dispersal draft was held.

The Minor League system was discontinued.

League Statitician and ICE DRAGONS owner Ron Savard passed away on November 25, 2008. Control of the team for the balance of the season was assumed by Kevin Simpson and the team name remained the same.

Prior to the start of the season, the WOLFPACK announced that they would be leaving the FHL.

On July 25, 2008, ownership of the WOLFPACK franchise was awarded to:
    Scott Rogers (ROGERS RAIDERS)
The OILERS changed their name to the OIL KINGS.

The Minor League system was discontinued.

League Statitician and ICE CATS owner Ron Savard passed away on November 25, 2008. Control of the team for the balance of the season was assumed by Denis Lapierre and the team name remained the same. The name of the League was changed to the Ronzo Fantasy Hockey League (RFHL) and teams would now compete for the Ronzo Cup. These changes were made in memory of Ron Savard.

Prior to the start of the season, League owners from both the CFHL and the RFHL agreed to merge the two leagues into one 24 team league.

Teams would now compete in six 4 team divisions (GRETZKY, ORR, SAVARD, CAMPBELL, WALES, & LANG). The Savard Division was named in memory of Ron Savard.

All rules remained the same except that each NHL Player could be drafted twice in the League.

The League name was chosen to remain the Cornwall Fantasy Hockey League and teams would compete for the Ronzo Cup.

For the merger to work, two GMs who had a team in each pool, had to abandon one team. As such, the BEARS, and MOONHEADS were abandoned.

Both temporary owners of the ICE DRAGONS and ICE CATS, chose not to remain in the pool.

Prior to the start of the season, the CLAYMORES and BARRACUDAS announced that they would be leaving the RFHL.

On April 13, 2009, ownership of the ICE DRAGONS franchise was awarded to:
    Mark Des Cotes (MARKSMAN)
On April 13, 2009, ownership of the BEARS franchise was awarded to:

Former MOONHEADS owner David Murphy passed away on November 13, 2022. It was announced that Minor League teams would now compete for the Murph Cup. The Wales Division was renamed to the Murph Division. These changes were made in memory of David Murphy.
